Technologically Handicapped

Two weeks ago, I settled in for a long night at work with some chips and salsa. As I sat down at my desk and placed some papers to the side, I realized the hand that had just rotated upside-down was the one holding the salsa. Yes, I dumped a full cup of salsa on my keyboard, and trying to catch it - sent it splattering all over my desk. This made for some laughter between me and the late-night leftovers, but eventually, was just a retarded accident. I can't think of anything more disgusting than salsa on a keyboard. It's not just liquid, but partly garlicky solid!

Enter today. A scramble after church to make it to Christi and Dan's had us hurrying through the grocery store, only to hear 5 minutes prior to departure, that it was pushed back to the evening. So amidst my hunger, hurriedness, and basic plan-changing-frustration (which is bad, sinful, and I understand that. I need to be more flexible. That said . . . ) I finally sit down at home to eat something and get a text message from Dan. As I go to open my phone, Ryan and I both see it spiral out of control with that dern flippy spring mechanism thing, and land squarely inside my just-barely-big-enough glass of milk - a full emersion baptism as it were. The LDC screen was full of milk instantly. We took it apart and tried to dry it, but I think it has dialed its last. Thankfully, my old phone was waiting patiently to save the day from its resting place in the closet. Ahh, technology.

How is it that Ryan, such a helpful wiz, be paired up with someone like me who is just so clumsy with all things techy? Maybe that's the beautiful part of opposites - we help each other.

I love (and hate) the salsa-keyboard image! You were just multi-tasking one too many tasks, eh? Love and miss you, beautiful Cari!
