A Sweet Season of Sabbath

Wow, what an adventure this last 6 months has been. I can hardly believe Jack is rounding the corner to being 6 months old!

Having a second kid has been waaaaaay better than we could have imagined or even hoped. Jackson is such a peach. My dad calls him The Little Gentleman. (This is hilarious in comparison to what he calls Julia. He calls her Braveheart - because of the war-cry like scream she hurtles at you like a javelin to the skull.) I think we were gearing up for another Julia, and instead we got this mellow little happy person who only whines when he's tired and its more of an audible pout than a whine. All we do is wrap him up and give him a pacifier and walk away and he's out. It almost doesn't seem real!

Julia is such an awesome big sister and an amazing helper! When Jackson sees her, his face lights up like no other. He LOOOOVES her. And Julia loves feeling important with jobs to do. She puts the diaper garbage into the big garbage in the kitchen. She pops in pacifiers. She tells him, "It's ok Jax," when he fusses. She is such a gem!

So here we are. A little family. I still feel like I'm living in a dream when I reflect on the profuse blessings I've received . . . I get these special quiet times to reflect when they're sleeping, which is heavenly, otherwise it is just go go go! But it's a good go. It's things like the zoo and the wading pool at Greenlake and weekends with friends, and trips to the beach.

Julia makes me laugh. Yesterday in the grocery store she stopped dead in her happy little tracks to straighten a display she knocked only slightly off alignment. She organizes her blocks with colored sides one way and pictures the other. When I was cooking dinner a few nights ago, I asked her to put the clean silverware away from the dishwasher and after she finished, she kept going with the things she could reach. She is a great helper.

Anywho, life is good. It's quiet water now. I know that Jax is gonna be getting very busy here quite quickly. So for now, I'm enjoying my season of sabbath.

Thank you Jesus for blessing us so deeply and so sweetly!
