Can I tell you a funny story? Well here I go.
So yesterday, I have parked my car about two blocks away from my office and am walking a little on the quick side in my cute little heels to get to work on time (which by the way didn't work). Anyways, I see a guy coming towards me on a bike and looks like he is going to turn right, but wavers and goes straight past me instead. No more thoughts about it, right? wrong.
So I keep walking. All of the sudden, this same biker guy is pacing me, and says, " You know, I am supposed to be test riding this bike, but that doesn't really matter any more. How are you?" I laugh a little.
"Great, how bout you?"
"Well, I feel a little silly wearing this helmet, seeing as I am not a kid anymore."
"But safety is important."
"There is too much safety in this world, I think." I laugh at that last remark. He continues. "I have to tell you, you are absolutely beautiful."
I laugh awkwardly and smile - continuing to walk to work.
"But that doesn't really matter in the long run, does it? I mean, it's essential in the beginning but really doesn't matter." By this point I am beginning to genuinely enjoy this. "Are you are an interesting person?"
I casually respond with, "Actually, I think I am a much more intersting person than I am pretty."
He throws his head back, "I could fall in love with you right here."
I mumble something about having to get to work by one.
Then he mumbles back about how he was gonna use a lame question such as what do I do, but it was too trite. "So what in this life really interests you and keeps you going?"
Wow, this guy is really interesting. "Honestly, my relationship with Christ." I don't think he heard me when I said that. By this time, we are by the door.
He pulls over to the sidewalk and asks me, "Do you want to have tons and tons of kids?"
"Well, maybe a couple."
mumble, mumble, mumble
"Well, I've got to go, but you have a nice day." I turn and walk into work, grinning from ear to ear.
Will I ever meet this man again? Probably not. But what a funny little blessing. The drawback? Along with most of the other people I attract, he had to be in his late twenties to early thirties. O'well. It made me smile. Who does that anyhow?
