So last night, Christi and I were gonna have dinner with Dad at Sandbar. So we had some extra time before they started serving and Christi really wanted to take a walk with Eva. My feet hurt so I complained. But she persisted. So I grabbed a pair of her shoes and we set off down the beach. She decided she wanted to take me to Grand Turk Inn, a very nice new hotel on the island. So we were walking and she stopped on the beach for a while to pick up shells. We played and I sat on the wall relaxing, and looking at the amazing ocean. Dad came by on the motorcycle (or murdercycle as he calls it :) and we sat and chatted. We started going towards the Grand Turk Inn. Christi said we should go around to the back, where the owner's office is, so we could get a tour. As we walked around the side, i hesitated, seeing things set up that looked like they were having a party. I asked, should we go in? It looks like they are doing something here? She told me to keep going, and then the hotel girls popped out and I realized they were doing something, and it was for me!
I had my first bridal shower and it was a complete surprise. Yay! But the funny thing was, it wasn't a bridal shower, it began to poor the second we got under cover, and not just rain, but tropical MONSOON rain. It was hilarious. We couldn't hear each other, the women were ducking under extra tablecloths, the food was soaking, the roof was leaking, and the patio was flooding. It was marvelous.
So we played fun games, which were incredible embarassing and DIRTY! Who would have known little Christian women can come up with things so awful :) We all laughed and had a great time. I got some very lovely gifts. Christi bought me a beautiful pair of beaded and shelled sandals I was coveting to wear under my wedding dress. Yay! I am so excited.
Thank you Hotel Girls!
