To Buy or Not To Buy
An excellent car has presented itself. And by excellent, we mean holy moly, we couldn't have hand-picked it ourselves a single bit better.
So,
Do we buy and preemptively strike on our 4Runner's impending death?
Or do we trust the Lord to provide the right car when it is necessary (i.e., wait until the death occurs, which could be next month, or 3 years from now)?
Or has He provided this fantastic car for us, and I may be too stupid to jump on it out of fear?
Or am I being wise by avoiding the debt?
But I know that it will need to happen at one point or another, so why not now before our lives get more complicated (expensive) with kids and a house?
But maybe by then there will be a cool new hybrid 4Runner and we should wait for that?
But we have the financial flexibility to afford it now?
But do we want to have the payments for the next 5 or 6 years?
So what, then do we save up for the next 5-6 years in order to pay with cash?
Sure that would be great, but why wait to pay cash without the car when we could have the car now as we are paying it off?
But there might be something better in 5-6 years.
Yah but, but but . . . . .
Aaaaack. I think we're test-driving it tomorrow after church and I am so worried that we'll both get caught up in the worldly mindset of, "we both have jobs, we only have school debt, we live in a cheap place, we can afford to drive a nice car." But do we really need it? I mean really really? In the future, absolutely yes! Kids, dogs, ski gear, family trips. Yes yes yes. So do we buy now?
Who knows.

No car can live up to the legend of THE RACK!
