A Big Day

It seems like Ryan and I have been having lots of big days lately. Today's big day was 2 part.

It started like any other Sunday, us rushing to make it to church before the music starts as we walk up to our communion station at the VERY front. Alas, like any other Sunday, we made a bit of a scene by walking up, all the way up and sinking into our seats. But what made today unique, beautiful and eternally meaningful was that Joe, a new friend from community group finally took communion after years of struggling with feeling "holy" and "righteousness" to take part in Jesus' mercy. It was amazing. Ryan has been talking with him about living in a state of Grace and it was such a joy to be the ones who got to serve him communion. We can't wait to talk to him tomorrow night!!

And secondly, and less meaningfully, or maybe not, is that Ryan's Dodge truck is finally gone. It has been passed onto Sharon and Sean for his work use. Dodgers was Ryan's 16th birthday gift from his grandpa - and the very first car he EVER drove! He would have had it ten years next month. Talk about the end of an era! It took Ryan to every baseball practice ever, through college, on dates, getting in trouble with Scott, and a part of every pre-Cari memory. So today is sweetly sentimental for Ryan and his beloved Dodgers. He didn't start today when Ryan was getting it ready for Sean. I think he was protesting with separation anxiety. But he seems to be liking Sean, so maybe a new friendship will begin :o)
