This was our view, and by view, I mean back yard:
And this too:
So we get there and from what we can deduce, the owner of this "rental" actually lives there and apparently rents it out on the weekends and stays with friends while we enjoy his fully stocked drawers and closets full of his clothes. He actually came by, twice, the first night, once to look for his shaver and grab an extra shirt. So that was weird. Let's just say that we freaked out a little. Then we looked at the second bedroom that had a twin-and-a half bed and realized that would be where Ryan and I would sleep so Christi and Dan and the gaggle could share the normal sized master bed. So that was weird. We immediately washed all the sheets just to make sure. So yeah, there was a way unexpected and totally inappropriate amount of funk, but we got over it and had a great time.
The next day we got up and the boys dropped Christi and I off at Stevens Pass with our skis where we enjoyed 5" of fresh snow, and took the kids for the day.
First they played in the snow:
Then they went horse-back riding (at the grocery store):
All in all, it was a lovely little getaway weekend.
Thank you Jesus for family.

Oh, Cari, you have so much fun! I can't believe how grown up miss Eva is! I love her curly locks! Cari, I miss you so much! Is there a good time for me to call? I know you treasure your evenings and weekends with your honey, so when could I possibly snag a moment to hear your voice! Love and miss you!
What adorable photos of the kids! I'm glad you all had fun.
