Exhale

We made it. We completed our month of crazy busy adventure and now, all I can think about is how lovely it will be to just relax at home. We just enjoyed a wonderful camping trip with Angelo and Sarah, Jerret and Erika, and our friend Mark, all from Community Group. We had a heckuva time finding a campsite - basically everything east of Steven's Pass was full, but after 5 hours, we found a place to call our own. We had a blast white water rafting and I even got to "ride the bull" through some rapids (riding the bull is where you sit on top of the very front of the boat and hold on to the ring between your legs - they tell you to lean back if you feel like you're going over . . . what a rush!!). Enjoyable evenings, silly cardgames and AMAZING food!

So now that I can relax, I shall begin obsessing and planning the details of our Italy trip. Tonight I TRIED to get our train tickets, but their website was acting funny. I booked our car rental and I bought Ryan two new polo shirts. I updated our packing lists and researched the whole 3-1-1 thing. Man, carry-on travel is getting hard! But we'll be creative and make it. A girlfriend of mine recommended I mail some hair gel etc ahead of time to our hotels. She is brilliant.

I had a great talk with Sarah on the way home from camping tonight. I really miss girl chat. I need more of it.

Life seems to be whipping on by. I turn 24 on Thursday. It's my golden birthday. People ask me what I am doing for my birthday. For the first time ever, I am happy to simply be doing nothing. My soul is tired. Ryan and I are tired. Our laundry is still sitting there and I haven't had the energy to cook a legitimate meal in over a month. I am now 19 months into my one-year bible and my hall closet is calling out to me to please organize it. But guess what? I'm gonna let it keep sliding. I need to sleep. I need to rest. Jesus is on the throne. It'll all be okay anyways.

Hey, what about hiring an SPU student to clean your house and do your laundry? Might be the best $20 bucks you've ever spent. Try posting on the SPU classifieds.
