A Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. I went to work. That was my demise. Working on your birthday should be outlawed. If I weren't saving vacation days for Italy, I would have taken it off. But I didn't, now did I.

It was weird. There was no party, no friends (thank you to all of the voice and text messagers and the sneaky gift senders). I have been so exhausted with life that I don't think I could muster up any party planning even if I tried.

Ry surprised me with a date out to a little Italian restaurant on Eastlake where I delighted in teaching him the Italian I have learned so far. Yes, I think that was the true highlight of my entire day.

I think I'll go ahead and claim the entire weekend if you don't mind, glean the best parts and call that my birthday celebration.

Sitting in bed with my husband is one of the best parts to my birthday celebration so far. Last night's mint chocolate chip in bed wasn't too bad either :o)

Mom and Jim are here. We had a nice Seattle Pike Place Market adventure for lunch. We'll see them again tomorrow. A picnic at Snoqualmie Falls perhaps?

Happy birthday again!

I do think working on your birthday should be OUTLAWED. Thomas discovered that this year too.

I got out of working by being on an island with no electricity, which really helped... try that next time!
