Pregnancy and First Month - Easy Makers

So, here are the things that made my pregnancy and first month of being a mommy better than they could have been:

Pregnancy

1. Ryan. Sorry, he's not available at Babies R Us. He's an amazing helper with his primary love language as acts of service. Yes, he is amazing!!
2. The "holding of the belly." Standing, Ryan would snuggle up behind me and hug under my belly and lift up - holding up all the weight of my belly (or at least some), which relieved pressure off of my joints etc. Best thing ever!
3. Mommy's Bliss - natural supplement to combat morning sickness
4. Unisom - anti-nausea pill that makes people sleepy so it is called a sleeping pill.
5. Being in the water - swimming, bathing etc. Yay for buoyancy!!
6. "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" - joyful, hilarious and informative book. If someone was to read ONE book while pregnant - this would be my recommendation.

Mommy-hood
1. Again, Ryan. See above.
2. "The Happiest Baby on the Block" - amazing book on how to calm and take care of newborns.
3. Pumping breast milk and letting Ryan do one feeding with a bottle in the middle of the night.
4. The Boppy Pillow. Enough said - practically perfect in every way. Get it. Period.
5. Good friends bringing dinners over. This enabled us to see people in the first few weeks, but on our terms, and not have to "entertain." Also, I hate cooking.
6. Swaddling. Without a doubt.

So I think that's it for now. I can hardly believe that Julia will be one month old tomorrow! What a joy she has been - an absolute delight to my innermost being. Thank you Jesus.

Oh, and one more thing. I would have LOVED having one of those toy grabber extendo-arm things so I wouldn't have to bend down to pick things up in month 8 and 9.

I cannot believe I missed out on all these blog entries! I love them! I will definitely be referring to this list (inserting my beloved Stephen as the #1) when our time rolls around someday! Passed on the unisom and mommy's bliss recommendations to a friend in the height of morning sickness. Love you!
