So I have volunteered (with a small $tipened) to work in Children's Ministry for the next 3 months during the women's mid-week study. Today was my first day. I'm the "room lead," which I have never been before, and it was for the older kids (4, 5, and 6), which I'd also never done before.
I walked in at 8:30 and glanced at the lesson plan and jumped in. I ended up having a great time. Teaching the kiddos was really fun - I got to be goofy and over-dramatic and I think the littles liked it. One of the other volunteers asked me if I was a teacher because I did so well. Its not that I was nervous, but I really had no idea what I was doing. But as it turns out, I didn't do so bad afterall. I just feel so encouraged!
We took them to the big room to do games and some movie time. Julia was being cuddled out in the hall because her room was a little extra CRAAAAAAZY! There were over 20 1-year olds!!! So she came in for game time with me and the big kids and she was hilarious! She did so great. I'm so thankful she's used to other kids after being around her cousins and community group friends so much. She spent the rest of the morning in my class and played along the big kids just great.
I'm having so much fun with Jules right now. Her little personality is just so marvelous and I love being with her. How fun!
