What a productive day!!

Today was a serious work day around here.

It started with our closet project. Since our house is the size of a postage stamp (and the bedrooms even smaller), and the kiddos will be sharing a room, we had to figure out what to do with Julia's room. We decided to get her a big girl bed with drawers underneath, shuffle the crib around, remove the doors from the closet and put the changing table in the closet. Along with the changing table in the closet, we wanted to build out some additional hanger space with a shelf on top on either side of the changing table. We had some leftover pieces of wood from a headboardy thing on Julia's big bed that we didn't use, so we toodled on over to Jerret's wonderful shop and cut down some pieces to use in the closet. A few short minutes later  - her closet was done! I hung a matching valance over the top and will get some cute white curtains with tie backs soon. We still need to paint the inside but decided that could wait. Hurray! Now i'll just keep my eyes out for some cute storage baskets to make the shelves look presentable now that there aren't any doors.

Next I cleaned the house. It was bad. Really bad. Dishes. Floors. Laundry room. Laundry. Living room. Clearing the piles on our kitchen table.

While I was doing that, Ryan took huge piles of things out to our storage shed. Along with our house and bedrooms being tiny, we also have tiny closets - therefore much of our life goes out to our shed. There were non-maternity clothes that would be off-season, clothes Julia grew out of, some luggage, sports gear etc . . . It all needed to go. Our closet space has become very, very precious!!

After that, I decided to do some freezer meal planning. I scoured Pinterest and came up with 10 recipes I wanted to do. I decided I'd make two tonight. They took less than 5 minutes each. Yay!

We did some grocery shopping together, and it was marvelous having Ryan with me. He pushed the cart, loaded the groceries into the car and brought them into the house. Yay for husbands!

Now Julia is bathing in bubbles, and soon/nowish will be her bedtime, and there is a bowl of chocolate fudge brownie icecream and a couple of episodes of Top Gear calling to Ryan and me. Yay for fun nights at home with the husband!
