A possible column

So I've joined MOPS and they mentioned a newsletter and wanting content and Jessie nudged me that I should write something. I sat with that thought for a bit and I think I have a good idea!

You all know that I have a very serious book problem. I was thinking that maybe I could take some of the amazingly helpful and transformational books from my womanhood, marriage and mom-ness, boil them down, and provide the gyst of the wisdom for all my mom friends who are too busy to read a full book.

Here's how I'm thinking about starting the first column:

------------------

Title: Bookaholics Anonymous

Hello, my name is Cari and I have a book problem. I'm addicted.

I love books. I can't stop buying them. Unfortunately, I also have a reading problem. And it's not that I can't stop reading, it's that many (ok, most) of my wonderful new books end up sitting unread. The primary cause for this comes in the form of a little curly-headed toddler with big brown eyes named Julia who keeps me VERY busy. Chances are that you also have a reading problem, or two, or more.

My girlfriends and I have reflected upon how much we love it when someone who has just finished some amazing book can tell you all the important parts in just 5 minutes. Its a breath of life! You immediately know if you're fine to go on living without the book, or if you absolutely HAVE to read it and will most likely die if you don't.

Well, here I am, with your 5 minute snippet, so you can love it or leave it, because a mom's life is far too short and MUCH too busy to waste it on anything less than spectacular.

------------------

Ok, so that's a rough draft, but I am looking forward to submitting something soon. Thanks for the encouragement Jessie!
