So, every once in a while, our spending gets away from us and we have more month left at the end of our money :o) I've been trying not to stress about money so haven't been checking the bank balance quite as often either. Needless to say, October became slightly tight, oh, around the middle of the month :o)
But, I've actually had a lot of fun being creative as to how we spend the dollars leftover! I had a pair of jeans I was thinking about taking back, so bam, there's an extra $35 bucks in the bank (I know - totally cheap jeans, perhaps that's why they needed to be returned!). I had a set of insoles that I bought that weren't as comfy as I had hoped. BAM! $8.50. I cleaned out the leftover cash and change in my purse. BAM! I'm now sticking to my grocery list. Who'd have ever thought that would curb spending? ;o) Being more vigilant about packing Ryan's lunches. BAM - there's $50/day in savings (just kidding).
I grew up on a really really really tight budget (and knew all about how tight it was - very stressful for a kid - I really want to protect Julia from that kind of worry). I know how to do it, thought I'd prefer not too :o) But its good to know I've still got it.
