Today I met with my new student. Fourteen and beautiful, this very black young lady's name is Monique. She is going into 4th form in high school (about 9th grade) and is needing help with her "maths." Today we worked on Matrixes, a thing of the past I must have filed as temporary information, but was miraculously recovered. We will be working through factoring once I am confident about her multiplication table. What an adventure. I will search for a text book and see what we can do. This girl has so much going for her. She is a talented athlete and intelligent in almost every other area. Pray she can keep focused and keep out of harm's way.
I have recently finished C.S. Lewis' "Until We Have Faces." Thre more I think about it, the less I don't like it. But I still am wondering if these last three days of reading have been in vain. What is it about humans and our desire to finish something. The entire way, I kept thinking I don't think I'll finish this, but I did and I did and I did. O'well. Next I am onto "The Four Loves." I look forward to my weeks of literary delight.
Tupper Saussy, world renowned writer, composer and artist is here with our family. I never knew what was inside of the stories I had heard as a child, but as a young adult, I am lerning just who this man is and I am amazed. Tomorrow I will be singing with him a song he recently wrote. He will record it and then send it off to his good friend who is Amy Grant's producer to see if she'll want to sing it.
Hmm. Life is interesting, isn't it!
